Mr. Moore's U.S. History Class - Basic information and expectations
I hope everyone is looking forward to a great year in U.S. History this year! We are all going to learn a lot from one another!
I have no "rules", just classroom expectations
Come to class on time & prepared, be respectful of your classmates opinions, and be an active participant!
ACADEMIC POLICIESUnless otherwise indicated, all work is pledged. Even if there is no mention of the Honor Pledge, assume that the work being done is to be solely that of the student and not a shared effort. You will pledge all tests and major assignments. Sharing notes is permitted when approved by Mr. Moore! Any late work is penalized 10 points per day unless it is an excused absence – illness or foreseen absence. Tests and major projects count 50% of the quarterly average, quizzes, short essays and small projects count 33%, and homework and daily grades count 17%.
Test days for history are Wednesday and Friday. There will always be an in-class review the day before the test. When possible, there will also be a voluntary before-school review the day of the test.
Tips for doing well in History: Do your homework, prepare in advance for tests, and complete the bulleted lists for the essay questions!
